Nintendo is releasing an update for Splatoon 3 on August 19, 2026, bringing the game to version 11.3.0. This update is available for players on both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.

New Content and Balance Adjustments

The primary addition in this patch is the Plastic-Bottle Shot Replica. This new weapon shares the same specifications as the Tentatek Splattershot. To unlock it, you must have cleared the main story of Splatoon Raiders on the same console. Once those conditions are met, you can claim the weapon via the lobby terminal using the corresponding user profile.

Beyond the new weapon, the update focuses on multiplayer balance:

  • Weapon Tuning: Adjustments have been made to several main and special weapons.
  • Special Weapon Costs: The points required to activate certain special weapons have been modified.
  • Strategic Shifts: Developers noted changes intended to reduce the ability of certain weapons to maintain constant pressure or keep Splat Zones inked indefinitely.

Bug Fixes

Version 11.3.0 addresses a specific movement bug. Previously, players could perform actions immediately after a wall-jump using the Squid Surge to achieve greater horizontal distance than intended; this has now been corrected.
