Artist James Turner has returned to The Pokémon Company International in a new leadership position, taking on the role of Creative Director of Pokémon Art and Design.
Turner shared the announcement on social media, noting he is excited to work in the world of Pokémon again alongside a new group of colleagues. Previously, Turner worked at Game Freak and served as the art director for Pokémon Sword & Shield. More recently, he co-founded the studio All Possible Futures, which released The Plucky Squire on the Nintendo Switch and other platforms in 2024.
The personnel update arrives as The Pokémon Company continues development on the next generation title, Pokémon Winds & Waves. The game is slated to launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
