Nintendo has announced that Pokémon Pokopia is set to host a new limited-time event, "Hide and Sneak with Zorua," starting next week. The event invites players to track down the dark-type Pokémon to earn various in-game rewards, including a commemorative trophy.

Quick Facts

  • Event Start: July 19, 2026, at 5:00 AM local time.
  • Event End: July 27, 2026, at 4:59 AM local time.
  • Prerequisite: Players must have at least one fully rebuilt Pokémon Centre.

To join in, you will need to ensure you have at least one fully rebuilt Pokémon Centre in your world, as that is where Zorua will be found. The event does not appear to introduce any new Pokémon species to the game, focusing instead on the hide-and-seek mechanics and the associated rewards.

Multiplayer and Competitive Play

The event also features a social element for those looking to engage with the community. Players can visit the worlds of others or meet on a Cloud Island to participate in the contest together. The game will track the fastest completion times, which will then be recorded as the best performance for that specific town or Cloud Island.

Pokémon Pokopia has seen significant engagement since its release, recently surpassing four million copies sold. While the base game has been praised for its charm and creative approach to the franchise, future updates are on the horizon, with an Expansion Pass confirmed for an August release.

"Zorua can only visit towns with a rebuilt Pokémon Center—so if you want to participate in this event, make sure you have at least one up and running."

If you are looking to get a head start on the event, ensure your town infrastructure is ready before the 5:00 AM kickoff on July 19.
