Developer Lightbulb Crew and publisher Firesquid have confirmed that their upcoming turn-based strategy game, Ex Sanguis, will launch in Early Access on PC via Steam on September 10, 2026. Players interested in sampling the game ahead of its official release can currently access a demo as part of the Six One Indie Days event.
Gameplay and Mechanics
From the team behind Othercide, Ex Sanguis is a tactical roguelite set in a world drained by a force known as the Purge. Players command the Stillae—elite warriors tasked with fighting the forces of Stasis to restore the flow of life.
Key gameplay systems include:
- Timeline Manipulation: Combat allows players to speed up, delay, or swap positions on the timeline to control turn order.
- Environmental Interaction: Strategic choices involve using the environment to block lines of sight, ignite enemies, or trigger explosions.
- Spatial Tactics: Positioning is vital, with mechanics for knock-backs, flanking bonuses, and forced facings.
- Roguelite Progression: Players unlock forgotten powers and adjust unit loadouts between runs, with the map difficulty increasing as they venture toward the outer rim.
Release Availability
As of now, the developers have only confirmed the PC release via Steam. No console versions or additional platforms have been announced. Players can currently prepare for the Early Access launch by trying the limited-time demo available during Six One Indie Days.
