NC has shared fresh details regarding the upcoming global launch of Aion 2 during the game's first global livestream. While a specific calendar date remains unannounced, the presentation confirmed technical and gameplay features expected to be available at release in 2026.
Quick Facts
- Classes: Eight total, including two tanks (Gladiator, Templar), four DPS (Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spirit Master), and two healers (Cleric, Chanter).
- Regional Support: Servers will be available across five regions: NA West, NA East, South America, Central Europe, and Japan.
- Party Size: Expeditions (dungeons) will support five players, while Sanctuary (raids) will support ten.
- PvP: A 10v10 equalized Battlegrounds mode will be available, alongside the open-world PvP Abyss zone.
Gameplay and Customization
The developers highlighted that the game world is 36 times larger than the original Aion, utilizing a flight mechanic that allows players to reach any visible destination. Character creation will feature over 200 customization options, with players receiving four character slots at launch. Gear and wings are fully customizable; players can apply the appearance of obtained wings to others while retaining the desired stats.
Pets and mounts serve dual purposes, with over 200 varieties available at launch. These creatures now include an auto-loot function and can be farmed starting at level 3, rather than the previously mentioned level 5.
Dungeons and PvP Structures
Expeditions will feature two distinct modes: Exploration, which provides guidance from Shugos, and Conquest, which requires players to navigate mechanics independently. Raids in the Sanctuary will split the ten-player group into two teams of five for the initial stages before reuniting the full group for the final boss encounter.
For competitive players, the 10v10 Battlegrounds mode will feature stat equalization to focus on skill testing. Outside of structured modes, the Abyss serves as a persistent, open-world PvP zone containing dedicated quests.
