Twitch has appointed streamer ExtraEmily as one of its newest brand ambassadors, a decision that has drawn immediate criticism from other content creators due to her history of driving-related suspensions on the platform.
The platform revealed its latest group of representatives on August 11, stating that its Ambassadors are established creators who represent Twitch through collaboration, positive change, and brand advocacy. Shortly after the announcement, several streamers and community members questioned the choice on social media, pointing to ExtraEmily's past infractions involving livestreaming behind the wheel.
Backlash Over Past Driving Suspensions
Critics highlighted multiple instances where ExtraEmily was penalized for operating a vehicle while interacting with her broadcast. Her most recent driving-related suspension occurred on June 28, when she received a 24-hour ban after nearly crashing her car into an oncoming SUV while looking at her phone during an IRL stream.
Prior to that incident, she served an 18-hour ban in October 2023 for using her phone while driving and a one-day suspension in April 2025 after running a red light on stream. Following her June 2026 ban, ExtraEmily stated that she would cut back on driving streams and began hiring a driver for subsequent outdoor broadcasts.
The ambassador appointment has reignited broader discussions among creators regarding Twitch's enforcement policies and previous calls from prominent streamers to ban driving streams entirely.
