Nexon has officially announced the title for its upcoming project previously known as Project RX: FAREIDOLIA. The game is an anime-style adventure set in Anima City, a location designed to mirror our own world with subtle, fantastical differences.

Players take on the role of the director of the Anima City Restoration Center and the head of Tasogare Hall. The core gameplay loop focuses on building bonds with characters known as Mates—anime girls who possess unique abilities—and engaging in slice-of-life experiences within the city.

Quick Facts

  • Confirmed Characters: Minieh (an explorer), Ohana (a mischievous genius), Shami (a cat girl), and the Elevator Girl.
  • Demo Availability: A playable demo will be available at the Tokyo Game Show 2026 from September 19 to September 21.
  • Booth Experience: The TGS 2026 booth will feature a recreation of the in-game Tasogare Hall and offer a rock-paper-scissors mini-game against characters.
  • Core Gameplay: While combat exists, the developers have stated the game emphasizes cozy, life-simulation moments and character connection.

Director Minseo Cha stated that the title FAREIDOLIA was chosen to reflect the experience of forming bonds while discovering a sense of familiarity in a new world. Following the project's first teaser in December 2025, the TGS 2026 showcase serves as the first opportunity for the public to experience the gameplay firsthand.

Nexon has not yet announced a final release window, but further details are expected to follow the Tokyo Game Show event.
