Developer Knight Owl Games has announced Tank Fu, an experimental character action title that swaps traditional humanoid protagonists for armored tanks. The game draws inspiration from stylish action series like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and Hi-Fi Rush.
Gameplay and Combat Mechanics
Rather than focusing on long-range artillery warfare, Tank Fu emphasizes close-quarters combat. Players control tanks capable of jumping, dashing, and performing complex aerial and ground-based combos. The game includes a library of over 16 distinct moves, culminating in cinematic finishing attacks once an opponent has been sufficiently weakened.
Current Development Status
The game is currently in a pre-alpha state. Knight Owl Games has released a build that includes a four-arena tutorial and an arena mode designed for high-score competition against endless waves of enemies. The developer notes that all current aspects of the game are subject to change during the development process.
