Epic Games' Fortnite has added a virtual Best Buy retailer to its open-world Creative map, Drive City. Rather than serving as a standard storefront, the activation functions as an interactive activity area complete with its own quests and exclusive unlockable items.

Quick Facts

  • Island Code: 6246-3089-1172 (Drive City)
  • Alternative Experiences: Meet Up (3527-4959-6539) and Toy Box (9061-5458-7889)
  • Quests: Hunt down Best Buy Tags scattered throughout the map
  • Rewards: Best Buy-themed Back Bling, XP, in-game currency, and the Best Buy Grappler

Quests and Rewards

The main gameplay loop for the Best Buy collaboration involves tracking down hidden Best Buy Tags scattered across Drive City and returning them to a virtual employee stationed inside the store.

Players who successfully collect 10 tags earn XP, in-game currency, and a Best Buy-themed Back Bling. Collecting and returning all 20 tags rewards players with the Best Buy Grappler, which remains available every time the player returns to the map.

In-Store Activities and Alternate Map Codes

Inside the virtual store, players can interact with several smaller activities, including an interactive boom box to change background music, a photo booth that helps locate nearby collectibles, a Geek Squad section, and a television playing minigames.

Along with the main Drive City map, two additional experiences tied to the collaboration are available exclusively inside the store: Meet Up, which features proximity chat and uses island code 3527-4959-6539, and Toy Box, accessible via code 9061-5458-7889.

While the collaboration coincides with the rollout of Chapter 7 Season 4, the Best Buy store is hosted on a Creative map rather than the standard Battle Royale island, sitting alongside other map references including Sonic Sprites and teasers for upcoming crossovers.
