Bandai Namco has deployed Tekken 8 patch 3.02.01, bringing universal mechanical shifts and extensive character adjustments to the multi-platform fighter. The update, which went live on August 20, 2026, focuses on curbing aggressive play and standardizing character interactions.

Universal Mechanical Changes

The most impactful system change is a reduction in maximum health from 200 to 190. While not a full reversal of the previous increase from 180, the change makes existing combo damage and standard pokes slightly more valuable.

Additionally, the Quick Recovery mechanic has been significantly weakened. It now features five extra frames of recovery and shifts to -7 on block (down from -2) and -2 on hit (down from +3). This removes the frame advantage players previously enjoyed, making it harder to use Quick Recovery as a reliable tool to instantly transition into offensive pressure.

Character Balance and Fixes

While the patch notes cover the entire roster, the adjustments are primarily aimed at fixing hitboxes, collision, tracking, and unintended positioning. Bandai Namco has specifically targeted high-impact moves for several characters:

  • Bryan: A major pressure tool now has reduced frame advantage on block and no chip damage; another sequence no longer provides the same counter-hit combo conversion.
  • Nina: A specific counter-hit sequence now yields normal-hit results, lowering the total combo reward.
  • Lili: Her low Heat option now leaves opponents closer on block, limiting her ability to create distance.
  • Kazuya: An abnormal Heat Dash interaction that could extend combos on grounded opponents has been removed.

Other characters, including Clive, Miary Zo, Victor, and Leroy, received smaller adjustments to their specific tools, largely aimed at making them easier to evade or less effective in repeated sequences.

Player Action Required

Players must download the 3.02.01 update to access online features. For Season 3 Pass owners, Bob is now available in early access ahead of his general release. No manual save changes or settings adjustments are required to implement these balance updates; they are applied automatically upon installing the patch.
