I’ve been waiting for a deal on the Corsair Galleon 100 SD ever since I first pulled it out of the box and saw that $349.99 MSRP. It is a blast to use, but that high price point always felt like a barrier for anyone not deeply embedded in a specific niche use case. This week, however, Best Buy has finally dropped the price to $299.99 as part of their 4th of July sales.

This is the first time the keyboard has seen a discount since it launched earlier this year. It is particularly surprising to see it happen now, considering it remained at full price throughout the recent Prime Day offers.

Is the Galleon 100 SD Right for Your Setup?

The Galleon 100 SD is essentially a TKL keyboard with a 12-button Stream Deck baked into the space where you would normally find a number pad. It packs a four-panelled screen and two control dials, offering a massive amount of customization. In my experience, even if you set aside the obvious streaming benefits, it is incredibly useful for productivity, Spotify controls, and deep macro suites for games like Planet Coaster 2.

However, you have to consider your current hardware. If you already own a standalone Stream Deck, there is little reason to pay the premium for this integrated model. At this price point, you could easily pick up one of the best Hall effect keyboards instead, which might offer more value for competitive players.

The Math Behind the Modular Alternative

If you are looking for a command center, there are cheaper ways to achieve it. For example, the Stream Deck Neo retails for $99.99. If you pair that with a solid mechanical TKL keyboard, you end up saving about $200 compared to the Galleon 100 SD. Splitting the devices also gives you the freedom to position your macro keys exactly where you want them, rather than being forced to take your hand off the mouse to reach the integrated panel.

That said, the Galleon 100 SD offers a cleaner, more unified interface, and I found the buttons to be more comfortable for daily shortcuts when positioned on a flat surface rather than the Neo's stand. While it fell just short of a perfect score in my review due to its original pricing, this $50 discount makes it a much more attractive prospect for anyone hunting for a high-end keyboard and macro solution in one go.
