Microsoft has expanded its library of Xbox Series X|S dynamic backgrounds with a new addition from developer and publisher GSC Game World, arriving just ahead of the upcoming release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
The new dashboard customization option arrives ahead of the launch of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope, the game's first major DLC expansion. Cost of Hope is scheduled to launch on Xbox Series X|S on August 20, 2026.
What Comes With the Update
The expansion is set to release alongside a massive 2.0 Unreal Engine 5 update for the game. According to details shared ahead of launch, the update introduces two new regions to the game, adding more environments, horrors, and mysteries of the Zone for players to encounter.
Alongside the upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 background, Xbox dashboard users can also access a dynamic Crimson Omen background themed around Gears of War: E-Day.
