A brand new RetroTINK video processing device is on the way, with creator Mike Chi set to lift the lid on the hardware this weekend. Known for upscalers like the high-end RetroTINK 4K and the more affordable RetroTINK 5X Pro, the hardware line has established itself as an industry standard for running legacy retro consoles on modern displays.
Hardware engineer Voultar, creator of the SNES Edge Enhancer, received early access to the new device and shared high praise on social media. "If you’ve been waiting for an affordable video processor that punches WAY above its class, pay attention," Voultar wrote. "This isn’t a beta test. It isn’t a proof of concept. It’s a real, finished product that WORKS. The price is nuts. The feature set is even crazier."
While specifics regarding the hardware capabilities remain under wraps until the official announcement, Chi confirmed that the upcoming hardware is not an RT5X or an RT5X-derived device.
The official product reveal is expected this Saturday.
