A Long-Awaited Stop in Japan
First unveiled during the Train Sim World 4 era, the Japanese route has been in development at Union Workshop for an extended period. The expansion brings scenic railway action to Sony's console, offering a distinct alternative to the frequently featured UK and Germany routes in the core game.
The expansion features seasonal variations, allowing players to operate services through the spring cherry blossoms as well as the winter snows. The route spans 28 detailed stations nestled among towns and villages, with dense forests, mountain valleys, and traditional architecture surrounding the winding Tadami River.
Gameplay and Exploration Features
Along the route, drivers will cross iconic bridges and pass the region's local dam. Beyond driving the KiHa 40 diesel railcar through different seasons, players can also experience the expansion by riding as a passenger or exploring the route entirely on foot.
Price and availability details for the Tadami Line add-on will be available via the PlayStation Store when the expansion officially goes live on July 30, 2026.
