RGG Studio and SEGA have lifted the lid on the intricate action mechanics powering Stranger Than Heaven, offering players a clearer look at how its unorthrodox street brawls actually play out in practice.

When developer RGG Studio first revealed the upcoming 2026 title, the initial reaction from fans leaned toward uncertainty. Rather than repurposing past combat engines, the Japanese studio built a new technical system requiring players to control the individual limbs of protagonist Makoto Daito. Concerns immediately surfaced that the setup might prove overly complex or overwrought.

To demystify the mechanics, SEGA published an in-depth livestream featuring a tutorial walkthrough followed by a 12-minute live gameplay demonstration. Starting around the 12-minute mark of the presentation, hosts walk viewers through casual exploration, knife fights, and multi-opponent skirmishes, breaking down the specific timing and spacing required to succeed.

While the detailed showcase provides a much better look at the game in action, mastering the system will still demand precise inputs. Players going up against multiple opponents will need a solid grasp of timing and positioning to navigate the limb-control mechanics effectively.
