CEO Strauss Zelnick noted in a recent interview that the $99.99/£89.99 Grand Theft Auto 6 Ultimate Edition is tracking higher than the $79.99/£69.99 standard version.

Zelnick characterized this trend as an indication that the "most avid consumers" are the primary participants in the pre-order phase. Data from the PlayStation Store supports this observation, showing that premium editions for many titles consistently track higher than their standard counterparts, suggesting that the demand for the Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto 6 follows a common industry pattern rather than being an isolated occurrence.

Ultimate Edition Content

For an additional $20/£20 over the standard price, the Ultimate Edition offers players several exclusive items intended to enhance the initial experience. Confirmed content includes:

  • Additional in-game vehicles
  • Bonus weapons and cosmetics
  • Access to exclusive in-game locations, including shops and a raid-ready contraband store

While the premium edition is seeing early success, players who opt for the standard edition initially are not locked out of this content. Rockstar Games has confirmed that the option to upgrade to the Ultimate Edition will remain available to players at any time after the game's 2026 release.
