Mana Core Game Studios has launched Utopia: Birth of the Heroes in Steam Early Access, bringing the story-rich visual novel to Linux, Mac, and Windows. Developed by brothers Dante and Daniel Arjona out of Monterrey, the game debuts with its first 17 chapters available to players.

Quick Facts

  • Platforms: Linux, Mac, and Windows (via Steam Early Access)
  • Content: Chapters 0 through 17 (first half of the story)
  • Playtime: Approximately 8 to 10 hours
  • Price: $19.99 USD / £17.75 / 20,49€
  • Developer: Mana Core Game Studios (Dante and Daniel Arjona)

What is Included in the Early Access Build

The initial Early Access release delivers roughly half of the full narrative, taking players through 17 story chapters. This build expands significantly on the free demo, which contained only five chapters. Players stepping into the game can expect fresh lands, key cast members, new plots, and major turning points.

Gameplay centers heavily on choice-driven mechanics. Decisions made throughout the journey alter bonds, lives, and entire nations, steering the narrative across multiple paths and scenes.

Technical Details and Steam Deck Status

While Steam officially lists native support for Linux, Mac, and Windows, several technical questions remain open for portable players. Steam Deck support has not been confirmed by Mana Core Game Studios, and the team has not released Proton test results or Vulkan support details.

Roadmap and Full Release Plans

During the Early Access period, Mana Core Game Studios plans to gather direct player feedback to refine text clarity, pacing, user interfaces, and English translation work. A published roadmap outlines plans for Chapters 18 through 32.

The studio intends to launch the full version later this year. Players who purchase the game during Early Access will receive the complete release without needing to buy it a second time.
