Paper Cult Games has announced that its dark fantasy action roguelike Tears of Metal has surpassed 100,000 copies sold on PC. The milestone arrives shortly after the game's recent Early Access launch, prompting the development team to outline its immediate priorities and upcoming patch schedule based on community feedback.

Development Priorities and Technical Fixes
While celebrating the sales milestone, Paper Cult addressed the two most frequent technical requests from players: resolving multiplayer desync issues and implementing a mid-run saving system. According to the studio, both features represent major engineering projects that require time to complete, meaning concrete release dates for these specific features are not yet available.
In the meantime, the developer is preparing a series of upcoming changes focused on stability and balance. The next wave of bug patches will include save file optimization and corruption prevention, graphic optimizations, healing bug corrections, and a fix to prevent The Banshee from hiding indefinitely.
Balancing Adjustments on the Way
Alongside technical bug fixes, the upcoming patches will adjust several gameplay systems. Players can expect balancing adjustments directed at Treasure Chest and Fountain costs, Charm rarity distribution, Act 2 progression, metaprogression rates, Beacon balancing, and reworks for specific enemies.
Recent patches for the game have already introduced notable adjustments, including unlocking Ruadh after defeating The Banshee. Crossplay compatibility was temporarily separated into a dedicated "Crossplay" Beta branch for players wishing to remain on older client versions while updates roll out.
