Developer Paras Games has released Update 7.24 (version V1.0.439) for the PC roguelite bullet-hell shooter Pass the Fear. Hot on the heels of the game's recent launch, this patch introduces essential multiplayer server improvements, interface adjustments, and several key bug fixes to smooth out co-op sessions.
Quick Facts
- Game: Pass the Fear
- Platform: PC (Steam)
- Update Version: 7.24 (V1.0.439)
- Release Date: July 24, 2026
Multiplayer and Lobby Improvements
The headline addition in this patch is dedicated multiplayer server support paired with server-generated Lobby Codes. Connection logic has been upgraded so that if a direct Steam connection fails, the game automatically falls back to connecting through the server using the provided Lobby Code. This follows earlier hotfixes aimed at resolving lobbies and matchmaking rooms.
Gameplay and Quality-of-Life Changes
Several adjustments have been made to streamline runs and user navigation:
- Bound Blacksmith Moved: The Forbidden Forging NPC has been relocated from the Hub directly to the end-of-stage shop.
- Voice-Overs: Multi-character voice-over support has been integrated into Hunter’s Notes, ensuring first-person clues are voiced by whichever character players are currently controlling.
- Revive Audio Cue: An audible audio cue now plays when reviving a fallen teammate.
Bug Fixes
Update 7.24 also squashes multiple technical issues affecting combat and controller inputs:
- Fixed a bug where weapons failed to fire in certain situations despite having a full magazine.
- Fixed an issue preventing specific achievements from unlocking.
- Resolved an issue where keyboard and mouse UI prompts incorrectly appeared while using a controller.
- Fixed a bug where movement inputs stayed active after opening the inventory while selecting equipment with a controller.
- Resolved an issue preventing players from navigating left or right when selecting Chaos Battle Scars with a controller.
