Developer Souris-Lab has announced that its colorful math-based puzzle platformer, Néro & Sci ∫ Integral Edition, will make its debut on Steam on August 18, 2026. The title is confirmed for a multi-platform release, arriving on Linux, Steam Deck, Mac, and Windows.

Quick Facts

  • Release Date: August 18, 2026
  • Platforms: Linux, Steam Deck, Mac, Windows
  • Modes: Solo and local couch co-op
  • Content: 36 levels across four unique worlds

Gameplay and Mechanics

The story follows characters Néro and Sci after a crash leaves their world, Heméide, filled with unpredictable rules and new threats born from "Chaos Theories." While the game is built around math-based puzzles, the developers emphasize that it does not require advanced mathematical expertise. Instead, the game introduces concepts through gameplay, allowing players to test plans and utilize an in-game clue system to navigate challenges.

Gameplay blends puzzle-solving with platforming elements. Players must utilize shapes, vectors, and numbers to open paths and overcome obstacles, often while managing timing-based jumps. The experience is designed to be accessible, with the difficulty increasing at a steady pace across the 36 included levels.

Co-op and Replayability

While the entire campaign can be played solo, Néro & Sci ∫ Integral Edition also supports local couch co-op for two players. This mode requires both participants to coordinate their actions to solve tests. The developer estimates the full game provides over 20 hours of content. For those seeking additional challenges, secret stages are tucked away within the worlds, and players can earn extra skill points through replay runs to achieve full clears.

Technical Support and Development

Souris-Lab, an indie studio based in France, collaborated with math experts from IREM Lyon to develop and test the game's puzzle concepts. Regarding technical performance, the team has confirmed a native build for Linux and the Steam Deck, ensuring that players on those platforms will not need to rely solely on Proton. While system requirements, frame rate targets, and specific controller support details have yet to be disclosed, the studio has confirmed the game is ready for its August launch.
