Building Your Own Supernatural Realm

In My Lil Afterlife, you take charge of a small section of the afterlife with the goal of attracting new spirits. The launch version includes ten distinct residents, ranging from a wise skeleton to a bold sasquatch. Each spirit serves a purpose, as some will offer new clothing items or gear once they take up residence in your realm.

The game emphasizes customization, allowing players to shape their environment without being locked into a single theme. You can lean into a dark aesthetic with graves, corn mazes, and jack-o-lanterns, or opt for a brighter, more relaxed space like a diner or a park. Beyond the decor, players can engage in crafting to create new items or find them while roaming.

Tower Combat and The Reaper

While the game features a relaxed, "soft and slow" loop for managing your afterlife territory, there is a more aggressive side to the experience. The Grim Reaper has become reckless with his power, and players must climb his tower to face him and his crew in spell-based combat. Successfully winning these encounters provides players with crafting parts and additional decor options.

Linux Support and Technical Details

JSquared Games has confirmed native Linux support for the game's release, meaning players on the platform will not need to rely on a later port. While the game is appearing on Steam, the developer has not yet confirmed Steam Deck support, nor have they shared details regarding Vulkan, system requirements, or expected frame rates.

Following the July 28 launch, the team plans to continue expanding the game with regular updates, adding more spirits to the initial roster of ten. After two years of development, the project aims to offer a low-cost, unique blend of home management and tower-climbing action.
