Good news for prospective players: Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is now blocked in 15 fewer countries than it was just last week. According to updates spotted on Steam’s backend, the list of nations where the game is barred from purchase has dropped from 132 to 117.
Quick Facts
- Game: Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
- PC Release Date: August 6, 2026
- Previous Restricted Count: 132 countries
- Current Restricted Count: 117 countries
Data from SteamDB shows that the countries removed from the restricted list include Armenia, Azerbaijan, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Pakistan, the Philippines, Serbia, and Uzbekistan. The changes appear to primarily affect regions across Eastern Europe and Western Asia, along with a few other international territories.
The restriction, which has drawn comparisons to similar issues faced by Helldivers 2, is widely suspected to be tied to the game's requirement for a PlayStation Network (PSN) account. While the Steam page for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls notes that a PSN account is necessary for online play and redeeming pre-order items, players in regions where PSN is unsupported have reported that they can view the store page even when they are unable to purchase the game.
It remains unclear if this reduction signifies a broader rollback of regional bans before the game hits digital shelves on August 6th. For now, the Vatican City State remains on the list of excluded nations, meaning the prospect of seeing Captain America and Spider-Man brawl within the walls of the Vatican is off the table.
With less than a month to go before launch, fans are hopeful that further adjustments to the Steam backend might open access to more regions. The game, which features a story mode written by Kieron Gillen, is currently set for release on both PC and PlayStation 5.
