Square Enix has confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 4 will feature more than one playable protagonist. An August 16, 2026, trailer revealed that in addition to Sora, players will be able to control three new characters throughout the game.
New World and Gameplay Details
Alongside the character reveal, the trailer provided the first look at a new world based on the Disney and Pixar film Coco. While the trailer confirmed the addition of these three playable characters, Square Enix has not yet disclosed the specific identities of these individuals.
This update follows a series of recent gaming announcements, including the reveal of the Keepsake Sea expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley and the launch of the indie title Wild Blue Skies on PlayStation 5.
