Gameplay and Features
HOPE 01 casts players into a deteriorating underground facility where they wake up with a mysterious directive to locate HAB 01. The map features an interconnected labyrinth design inspired by metroidvania exploration, alongside survival elements that require players to help survivors and navigate dangerous environments.
The core loop revolves around exploration, combat, and extraction. Players can utilize over 70 different weapons—each featuring varying qualities like rate of fire, muzzle velocity, reload time, and penetration—alongside a variety of gadgets and usable items to survive encounters with dangerous enemies and bosses.
Loot, Fabrication, and Content Scope
Venturing into the hab cluster yields equipment, armor, and weapons. Successfully extracting brings these spoils back to a hideout, while dying results in losing everything collected on the run. Additionally, players can scan more than 200 useful items to add to a fabricator, allowing them to print gear for future outings or difficult boss runs.
While the title enters Early Access on September 15 to allow the developer to add more quests, endings, guns, and gadgets, Bending Boy Games notes that a complete full run with multiple endings is already playable at launch.
