Bearded Giant Games has announced that their upcoming title, Night Cart: The Immortal Plague, will launch on PC on November 2, 2026. The developer confirmed the release date alongside details about the game's mechanics and world design.

Gameplay and World Features

Set in a plague-ridden version of Transylvania, the game emphasizes exploration and slow, deliberate combat. Players navigate the world using a horse-drawn cart to travel between ruins, settlements, and wilderness areas. The developer describes the experience as having an open-world structure similar to King’s Field IV, focused on discovery and a lack of hand-holding.

Combat encounters involve a mix of melee and early firearms, requiring players to utilize blocking, parrying, and dodging. A central feature of the game is its alchemical effect system, which allows players to modify their gear. Examples provided by the developer include:

  • Infusing weapons or bullets with various effects, such as healing or spreading the plague.
  • Using Fire Bombs to ignite swords or environmental objects.
  • Interacting with water to extinguish flames or alter combat conditions.

Players will be accompanied by an immortal character named Nera, who fights alongside them and reacts to the journey. The world is also shaped by a militarized church faction attempting to purge the region, adding to the game's gothic atmosphere.
