Ubisoft has resolved the technical issues surrounding the release of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete on Steam. Following the announcement of the Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Remake at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, the publisher shadowdropped the classic strategy title on Valve’s storefront. However, early purchasers discovered that the download was non-functional, consisting of only 23.49 KB of data.
Quick Facts
- Game: Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete
- Platform: PC (Steam)
- Issue: Missing game files at launch
- Status: Resolved via 770 MB update
The missing files led to a "Mostly Negative" rating on Steam shortly after the game went live. Players reported that the download contained only an executable file, rendering the game impossible to launch. PC Gamer and community reports confirmed the absence of the actual game assets.
The official Might and Magic social media account confirmed the issue was investigated and fixed. Players can now download the full game by updating their client, which requires a 770 MB download. The studio apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the community for reporting the error.
