If you've been feeling frustrated by seeing players with impossibly high Super Credit totals, you aren't alone. Arrowhead Game Studios has officially announced a new anti-cheat policy for Helldivers 2, specifically targeting the exploiters who have been gaming the game's economy.
In a recent Steam blog post, the developers acknowledged that players have been reporting unfair practices. "You've told us that cheaters and exploiters ruin the experience that it feels unfair when someone games the Super Credit system while you're out there earning yours the hard way," the studio wrote. "We heard you, and we're starting to implement changes that will tackle issues like this."
How the New System Works
Starting today, the game’s backend will begin monitoring for abnormal earning rates. The system is calibrated to detect if a player is acquiring credits at a speed substantially higher than the highest legitimate earnings ever recorded. If the system flags an account for earning at these "unreasonably high" rates, it will take steps to counter the activity.
The policy isn't just limited to Super Credits. Arrowhead confirmed that these protective measures are rolling out across all reward currencies, including Medals, Samples, and Requisition. The primary targets are individuals using bots, automation, or duplication exploits to bypass the intended progression systems.
Stopping Cheats at the Source
Arrowhead noted that they have implemented tools to stop these exploits "at the source." While the studio didn't go into specific technical details regarding how these tools function, they stated that the system is designed to ensure any falsely earned credits cannot be used by the cheaters at all.
The goal is to keep the game's rewards feeling meaningful and ensure the playing field remains fair for everyone else. For the vast majority of the community who earn their gear through standard play, the change is entirely invisible—unless, of course, you were planning on using an exploit to get ahead.
