A fresh PC update for Fun Runners focuses heavily on addressing multiplayer friction, aiming to clear up voice chat latency and environmental snags that have been frustrating players. Developers rolled out a patch that introduces manual region options for voice communication alongside automatic defaults designed to improve audio clarity worldwide.

Quick Facts

  • Added Voice Chat Region selection options in the Create Session popup.
  • Temporarily removed Exclusive Fullscreen mode to investigate GPU crash issues.
  • Adjusted furniture placement behind doors across all house models to prevent getting stuck.
  • Set up proper shelter under the Gazebo in the big park area and improved tornado reliability for shelter and crouch states.

Voice Chat and Quality of Life Improvements

Voice communication receives a major overhaul in this patch. Players can now select which region is best for them and their party using the Create Session popup. An improved automatic selection setting serves as the default, backed by visual indicators for the active session's region in the Session Lobby and Crew Assembly screens.

Additionally, the voice activity UI indicator now features a red "X" to display whenever a connection issue occurs, and the indicator will no longer unexpectedly disappear while holding down the Push To Talk key. Stunned characters can also now properly use the Push To Talk key.

Environment and Bug Fixes

Exploration and navigation received multiple adjustments. House interiors have been modified by adjusting furniture placement behind doors to prevent players from getting wedged when doors open or close. Empty storage rooms in House05 and House06 were filled in following the open closet update, and small broken fences no longer incorrectly block player characters from being pulled by tornadoes.

Radar functionality also saw updates. The dead character radar icon now displays as a distinct red "X," and overall player icon contrast and visibility have been improved. Furthermore, the "Lost Signal" visual effects were updated to reduce streaming bitrate issues on Twitch.

Known Issues Under Investigation

While this update addresses numerous bugs—such as dead bodies being grabbable by multiple players simultaneously and weather audio popping—the development team is actively tracking several remaining issues:

  • Certain AMD graphics GPUs causing system crashes.
  • Some players being completely unable to see or interact with crowbars, darts, and specific consumables.
  • Connection and invitation issues to servers.
  • Performance hiccups on specific menus when highlighting items or when Alt-Tabbed out.
  • Items purchased from vending machines occasionally failing to be usable or visible.

Developers have temporarily pulled Exclusive Fullscreen mode while they study why it causes stability problems on certain GPUs. Players experiencing ongoing connection issues or community questions are directed to the official Fun Runners Discord channel.
