Bandai Namco has officially set the stage for its next major entry in the franchise, confirming that Gundam Rogue Orbit is scheduled to launch on Steam on March 4, 2027. This announcement arrives alongside a surprising reveal from the 2026 All Japan Model & Hobby Show, where the company showcased the HG 1/144 Bau Bahlam model kit. This specific mobile suit is confirmed to appear directly within the game, bridging the gap between physical hobbyist collectibles and digital mecha combat.
A Unique Addition to the Gundam Arsenal
The Bau Bahlam mobile suit stands out for its aggressive aesthetic and unconventional weaponry. Unlike standard beam-focused units, this suit features a distinct chainsaw macuahuitl, a weapon design that blends ancient obsidian-edged club aesthetics with modern mechanical brutality. Complementing this primary tool are spiked knuckle plates, suggesting that the gameplay in Gundam Rogue Orbit will lean heavily into visceral, close-quarters combat against the giant monsters that populate the game world.
Technical and Physical Availability
Players looking to integrate this design into their physical collections can expect the HG 1/144 Bau Bahlam model kit to hit shelves in 2027. The synergy between the digital release and the physical model kit highlights Bandai Namco's strategy to maintain engagement across both platforms. For those interested in the technical specifications and release timeline, the following details are confirmed:
- Game Title: Gundam Rogue Orbit
- Platform: Steam
- Release Date: March 4, 2027
- Model Kit Scale: HG 1/144
- Model Kit Availability: 2027
- Key Weaponry: Chainsaw macuahuitl and spiked knuckle plates
Beyond the model kit, the game promises deep mecha customization options, allowing players to tailor their units to handle the various kaiju-sized threats they will encounter. While the game remains in its scheduled phase, the reveal of such specific, high-detail hardware suggests that the development team is prioritizing distinct combat identities for each mobile suit. Fans of the series should keep a close eye on the official store listing for further updates as the March 2027 launch window approaches. Whether you are a collector of HG kits or a fan of high-octane mecha action, the inclusion of the Bau Bahlam signals a shift toward more creative and aggressive suit designs in the upcoming title.
