The developers of Funnel Runners have released a new patch aimed at improving community standards and addressing technical instability. This update follows a public apology from the team regarding the presence of offensive language within the game.

New Moderation and Stability Fixes

To curb abusive chat, the developers have implemented a new profanity filter for session names in the lobby browser. The team stated that this is the first step in an ongoing effort to improve moderation features for the community.

Technical stability has also seen improvements, specifically regarding the game's weather hazards. The following fixes were addressed in this patch:

  • Fixed a crash triggered when players were caught by a tornado.
  • Resolved a crash caused by tornadoes changing states during a match.
  • Nerfed the duration of the Acid Storm.
  • Added a Microphone Activity Indicator to the HUD, which can be toggled off in settings.

Known Issues and Future Adjustments

Despite these fixes, the team acknowledged several persistent issues that are currently under investigation. Players may still encounter "No lobbies found" errors or difficulties with Steam invites. Other reported problems include latency issues causing items to disappear or become difficult to pick up, and clipping bugs where players pass through assets during ragdoll physics.

Graphical performance remains a concern, with the developers working on crashes linked to specific settings and certain AMD GPUs. Additionally, the team is actively developing a solution for whiteboard abuse, which will include an option to hide drawings created by other users. Players are encouraged to join the official Funnel Runners Discord server to stay updated on further balancing adjustments as the team reviews community data.
