Blizzard is dropping Diablo 4 patch 3.1.1 this coming Tuesday, July 14, 2026. While the update arrives two weeks into Season 14, it brings several long-requested adjustments to loot distribution and crafting, specifically targeting the elusive Mythic Uniques that have defined much of the season’s frustration.

Quick Facts

  • Patch Launch: Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
  • Crafting Cost: 'Upgrade to Mythic' at the Horadric Cube now requires four Pandemonium Fragments instead of five.
  • Guaranteed Fragments: Turning in Glints of Hope now guarantees one Pandemonium Fragment.
  • Lair Boss Fix: Resolved an issue preventing certain sources, including Lair Bosses, from dropping Mythic items.

Boosting Mythic Unique Acquisition

One of the primary pain points in Season 14 has been the scarcity of Mythic Uniques. To address this, the upcoming patch guarantees a Pandemonium Fragment every time you turn in Glints of Hope—the repeatable reputation reward earned after completing seasonal quests. If you have been hoarding these rewards, it is worth waiting until Tuesday to crack them open for a better payout.

Additionally, players tackling the Corrupted Reaper can now earn up to two Pandemonium Fragments per kill, with rewards scaling based on your current Torment level. Blizzard has also fixed a bug that prevented certain sources, such as Lair Bosses, from dropping Mythic Uniques entirely. While the developer has not provided specific drop rate percentages, the likelihood of finding an Iconic Mythic has been increased, and the El'Druin, Sword of Justice has been added to the Blacksmith's Mythic Unique Cache pool.

Refining the Horadric Cube

While the reduction in Pandemonium Fragment costs is a welcome change, the 'upgrade to Mythic' mechanic remains restricted. The system does not upgrade an existing item but instead produces a randomly rolled Mythic Unique for that slot. Players are still limited to equipping only one crafted Mythic Unique at a time—a rule that includes Iconic Mythics created with Resplendent Sparks. Because this restriction remains in place, players must still rely on 'natural' drops to fill out the remainder of their character's gear.

Quality of Life and Endgame Adjustments

The seasonal reputation board has been relocated to Temis, which serves as the hub city for the Lord of Hatred and the center for War Plans-centric endgame activities. Furthermore, Deathtoll Chambers spawned by Season 14’s Realmwalkers will now guarantee at least one Superior Lair Key at high Torment tiers, making these encounters a more efficient use of time.

Notably, there are no class balance changes included in patch 3.1.1. Despite concerns regarding the current dominance of the Barbarian class and the difficulties faced by Warlock players, Blizzard has opted to avoid mid-season adjustments, presumably to prevent player frustration caused by sudden buffs or nerfs.
