A new total conversion mod for Crusader Kings 3 has arrived, allowing players to experience the world of Dragon Age. Titled Thedas at War, the fan-made project is available now via the Steam Workshop and requires no additional DLC to install.

Thedas at War: Setting and Gameplay

The mod transports the grand strategy mechanics of Crusader Kings 3 to the continent of Thedas. The scenario is set during the Glory Age, specifically 90 years after the Second Blight. At this point in the lore, the Chantry is in its infancy, and the political map is defined by a fragmented Ferelden struggling against internal strife, alongside a volatile Orlesian Empire.

Players can engage with various historical and emergent conflicts, including:

  • Attempts to unite warring Ferelden tribes under a single ruler.
  • Political maneuvering within the Orlesian Empire.
  • Elven resistance movements against Orlesian expansion.
  • The management of mage characters, with the ability to pass magic down to heirs.

The mod features a wide range of cultures and religions reflecting the early development of Andrastianism. While the main map focuses on Ferelden and Orlais, the mod allows for both historical roleplay—such as attempting to unite Ferelden before the time of King Calenhad—and the creation of original characters to build new legacies.

Mod Requirements

Thedas at War is a standalone conversion, meaning players only need the base version of Crusader Kings 3 installed on PC to run it. There are no requirements for Paradox Interactive's official expansion packs or DLC content to access the mod's features.
