Voice actor Devora Wilde has highlighted a striking difference in how players treat her two major RPG roles, noting that fans are far more forgiving of her character in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 than they were of her work in Baldur's Gate 3.

Speaking in an interview with IGN, Wilde pointed out that despite playing questionable characters in both Baldur's Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, audiences have offered significantly more grace to Clea than they ever did to Lae'zel.

While players view Clea as cold and ruthless, the prevailing community reaction is that her actions are justified because she is trying to do the best for her family after most of them lost themselves to the painted world. In contrast, player responses to Lae'zel in Larian Studios' RPG leaned heavily black-and-white, with many writing her off early as simply mean and bad due to her initial selfishness and sharp tongue before her character arc softens in later acts.
