Larian Studios has updated Baldur's Gate 3 to officially support Xbox Play Anywhere, bridging the acclaimed RPG across Xbox Series X|S consoles and Windows PC within the Xbox digital ecosystem.

The Play Anywhere integration means players who previously purchased the digital Xbox Series version of the RPG can now access the title on PC through the Xbox ecosystem without purchasing a separate PC copy. Similarly, new purchasers buying the Play Anywhere version gain access across both hardware platforms.
Speaking about the decision to add the feature several years after the game's initial console launch, Larian publishing lead Michael Douse explained that the studio implemented support simply because it is a beneficial part of the ecosystem.
"We just did it because it's a pretty cool part of the Xbox ecosystem and it would mean a lot to the players who enjoy that ecosystem... We had the resources & time and figured it would make a few folks happy."
The update provides a practical option for players who split their time between an Xbox console and a Windows PC, keeping digital ownership and progress unified across devices without additional platform fees.
