Daybreak Game Company and Cold Iron Studios, working alongside 20th Century Games, have confirmed that Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will launch worldwide on August 25, 2026. The cooperative third-person survival shooter arrives on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

Co-Op Survival and Squad Mechanics
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 drops up to four players into the boots of Colonial Marines deployed to the most hostile corners of the Alien universe. The cooperative experience shifts away from rescue missions into a direct fight for survival against Xenomorphs that stalk corridors, ambush from shadows, and swarm in overwhelming numbers.
Players must coordinate with their fireteam, leverage class-specific abilities, and adapt dynamically as encounters scale from tense standoffs to full-scale combat. According to the developers, AFE2 features deeper squad mechanics, smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class.
Editions, Pricing, and DLC Packs
Two digital versions will be available at launch:
- Digital Standard Edition ($49.99): Includes the base game across all supported platforms.
- 40th Anniversary Premium Edition ($69.99): Includes the base game and bundled DLC drawing from the broader franchise. Players who purchase the Standard Edition can also buy this content separately on launch day as a $19.99 upgrade.
The 40th Anniversary content includes the Ripley’s Hive Exterminator Pack, featuring a cosmetic outfit themed to Ellen Ripley's appearance near the climax of the 1986 film Aliens, plus her modified pulse rifle with a fiery surprise, decals, and more. It also includes Herk Mondo’s Pest Pack, inspired by the comic-book hero, which brings a wild outfit, a massive modified pulse rifle, and custom decals.
Additionally, players across all editions can purchase the Rain’s Jackson’s Star Pack for $9.99 on August 25. Based on the 2024 film Alien: Romulus, this pack includes an outfit for protagonist Rain Carradine and her modified pulse rifle, which features a deadly cryoweapon underbarrel bonus designed to immobilize and shatter enemies using the game's element-based weapon mods.
