Aggro Crab has announced that Gloom and The Citadel will remain available in cooperative climbing game PEAK for one additional week on PC. Originally launched as part of the game's final major update, The Final Ascent, the temporary event extension gives players more time to tackle the mountain biome before it cycles back out.

Quick Facts

  • Game: PEAK
  • Platform: PC ($7.99 via Steam)
  • Developer/Publisher: Aggro Crab
  • Current Development: Gloom + The Citadel extended for one more week

What the Extension Means for Players

According to the developer update posted on August 24, 2026, keeping the biome live serves a dual purpose. It allows players who have not yet experienced the content a chance to try out the mountain area, while giving the team necessary time to implement bug fixes for the Caldera and The Kiln biomes.

Aggro Crab also hinted at a "cool new addition" arriving during this maintenance window. Once the extended week concludes, all biomes will return to the standard rotation.

Recent Updates and Context

The extension follows a series of post-launch patches for PEAK, which released on Steam on June 16, 2025. Following The Final Ascent update on August 11, 2026, patches 2.01.a and 2.02.a addressed community feedback by nerfing frog cooldowns and fixing bugged amulet spawn locations. Players diving into the game on PC can access the extended Citadel event directly through the current Steam build.
