According to the official D23 announcement, the anime reimagines the iconic adventure with a brand-new story. It aims to expand the universe of Kingdom Hearts while celebrating the characters from the games. The television adaptation news arrives alongside a late 2027 release window and trailer reveal for Kingdom Hearts IV on the Nintendo Switch 2. Disney Games Group also recently confirmed the franchise as one of its nine billion-dollar properties.
