Designed for both returning players and newcomers, this patch introduces bold all-or-nothing character builds, brand-new dodgeballs, and fresh passive items to shake up current runs.

Two All-or-Nothing Playstyles
The headline feature of The Naturalist update is the addition of two distinct characters that force players into specialized builds. The Ballbearer doubles the standard number of ball slots available during a run, but completely sacrifices the ability to hold passives. Conversely, The Hoary Hoarder takes the opposite route, restricting players to just two ball slots while doubling the number of available slots for passives to create unique combinations.
New Balls and Passives
To support these new character builds, the update expands the game's arsenal with three new dodgeball types and additional passive items:
- Lightning Bug: Spawns fireflies that actively zap nearby enemies.
- Drill: Pierces straight through enemies for piercing damage.
- Armageddon: Calls down a meteor shower to deal massive area-of-effect damage.
- Platinum Dumbbell: A passive item that grants a steady damage increase as long as your ball does not hit the back wall.
- Remote Detonator: A passive that lets players manually choose when to trigger detonations against opponents.
