Developer Kyle Thompson and publisher Top Hat Studios have confirmed that the dark fairytale Metroidvania Well Dweller will launch on September 22, 2026. The release includes versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and GOG.

In the game, players take on the role of Glimmer, a small bird equipped with a matchstick. The narrative centers on Glimmer's quest to burn a wicked queen to save his family, set within a morbid and whimsical kingdom. Gameplay involves traversing a side-scrolling landscape, battling enemies, and unlocking new abilities to explore deeper into the world.
