Developer Rebel Wolves has addressed console performance concerns by confirming a day one patch for The Blood of Dawnwalker that will include a dedicated 60 fps performance mode. The update brings targeted frame rate options to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X ahead of the game's September 3 launch.
Quick Facts
- Game Title: The Blood of Dawnwalker
- Developer: Rebel Wolves
- Publisher: Bandai Namco Entertainment
- Release Date: September 3, 2026
- Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X/S
Console Performance Modes
When the game launches, console players on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X will be able to choose between three display options: a quality mode targeting 30 fps, a balanced mode targeting 40 fps, and the newly confirmed performance mode targeting 60 fps.
The studio stated that the performance mode was already under development prior to the recent backlash, but the team delayed announcing it until internal testing confirmed stability. Fan concerns arose after an August 21 YouTube video showcasing console footage only highlighted quality and balanced modes, leading many viewers to believe a 60 fps option would be absent at launch.
Xbox Series S Limitations
While current-generation systems gain the new performance option, Xbox Series S players will not receive a 60 fps mode. Rebel Wolves confirmed that the game will remain capped at 30 fps on the Xbox Series S.
