How to Fish features five standard locations to visit and fish on, but a hidden sixth location exists within the game files. Currently available only through the developer build or a quick save file edit, the hidden developer island gives players access to unique amenities before official updates add new species and quests.

  1. Create a save file in How to Fish and then quit the game.
  2. Open File Explorer and navigate to your %appdata% folder.
  3. Select LocalLow, open Dazed Games, and navigate through the subfolders until you reach the Saves folder. (Alternatively, locate this through your default Windows Users folder inside your named profile directory.)
  4. Open your target save file in a text editor.
  5. Locate the command line reading SpawnedIsland, change its value to 5, and save the file.

What to Expect on the Developer Island

Once you save your changes and reload your save file, your character will spawn directly on the developer island. While you cannot cast your line into the surrounding ocean waters to catch fish yet, the location includes an active shop for purchases, a casino, and a grill. Future updates to How to Fish are expected to introduce new catchable fish species and quests to this area.
