When aligning the launch periods of both consoles—November 2020 for the PS5 and November 2006 for the Wii—the PlayStation 5 has demonstrated significant momentum over the past year. In the last 12 months, the PS5 has outsold the Wii's corresponding period by 6.38 million units.
Despite this recent surge, the Nintendo Wii maintains a lead of 2.28 million units in the direct month-to-month comparison. The PS5 currently sits 8.32 million units behind the Wii’s total lifetime sales of 101.63 million units.
