Developer FuRyu has announced that the fantasy RPG remaster EXSTETRA will launch for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on September 3. The announcement follows the immediate release of the PC version via Steam, which is currently available at a 20 percent discount price of $19.99 until August 12.

Story and Setting
Set in “Amazea”—a version of Tokyo fused with another world and fated for destruction—EXSTETRA puts players in the role of high school student Ryoma. As the chosen savior known as a “Prisma,” Ryoma must confront the coming end of the world. Along the way, he meets candidates to become “Prisma Knights” who share his destiny. The decadent world features transformed versions of recognizable districts like Shibuya and Akihabara, brought to life through artwork by tokyogenso.
Battle Systems and Mechanics
Combat revolves around the protagonist's ability to absorb energy called “EXS” by defeating enemies. As the sole Prisma, the protagonist can share this power with the Prisma Knights through a kiss. According to the developer, this act is required to awaken the companions and fight together as a unit.
The game also features an “Enchanting” system that lets players grant various abilities and special effects to equipment, requiring players to gather materials and maintain an optimal setup to gain an advantage in battle. This modern release is based on the 2013 original, though some specifications differ from the initial 3DS and PlayStation Vita release.
