Kinetic Publishing and Half Mermaid Productions have officially announced Precognition, a new horror title from Immortality creator Sam Barlow and director Brandon Cronenberg. The game, previously teased as 'Project C,' is confirmed for release on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Gameplay and Premise

Following the non-linear FMV structure established in Immortality, Precognition focuses on a character named Diana. After receiving an experimental brain implant, she gains the ability to view visions of the future. Players must investigate these visions and commit specific moments to Diana's memory in the present, with the goal of altering future outcomes.

Sam Barlow describes the project as an exploration of player agency within a cause-and-effect narrative. Brandon Cronenberg, known for his work on Possessor and Infinity Pool, noted that the game's subjective nature aligns with his own directorial approach to horror, where the perspective of the world warps around the protagonist.

Release Information

While the title is confirmed for the Switch 2, players should prepare for a lengthy development cycle. The team is currently targeting a launch window of Spring 2028.
