Appearing as a guest on CNBC, Zelnick discussed ongoing pre-order sales for GTA 6. While declining to provide exact figures, he confirmed that overall pre-order performance has exceeded expectations and that sales are currently skewing in favor of the $100 Ultimate Edition.
However, Zelnick noted that this trend will likely shift once the game officially launches later this year. "That might be a reflection of the fact that the most avid consumers are the ones who are pre-ordering now," Zelnick explained, pointing out that dedicated fans and players who bought consoles specifically for the release are driving early demand.
What Comes With the Ultimate Edition?
While Rockstar Games and Take-Two have not detailed the full scope of every bundle, the $100 Ultimate Edition features extra in-game content, including access to specific shops, barbers, and tattoo parlors that cannot be accessed if buyers choose the $80 standard version.
Further details regarding the game may appear during an extended look scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 27, before becoming available on YouTube six hours later. Zelnick has confirmed that GTA 6 will not feature a Christmas discount upon its November 19 release.
