The First Details on The First Descendant Season 4 Mega Dungeon

Developer Nexon is wrapping up Karel’s storyline in The First Descendant with a new Mega Dungeon arriving alongside Season 4 on August 20. The update brings narrative closure to the current arc while introducing a 20-minute dungeon experience, new weapons, the character Raven, and a roguelite mode named Trials across multi-platform availability.

Karel's Mothership Mega Dungeon Details

Unlike standard dungeons that take roughly five minutes to clear, the Karel’s Mothership Mega Dungeon takes up to 20 minutes per run. The activity incorporates interactive mechanics, such as shooting cranes with barrels to drop them onto enemies. While the primary focus is delivering a narrative-driven first clear, players can also earn Transcendent Weapons.

Conquest Event Schedule and Phases

A more challenging difficulty for the dungeon called Conquest opens on September 3, two weeks after the Season 4 launch. This mode adjusts enemy damage scaling to prioritize player survivability over bullet-sponge encounters.

The event is split into two phases:

Phase One (Sept. 3 – Sept. 17): Restricted to premade squads of four with no duplicate Descendants. The top 10 squads with the fastest clear times receive an exclusive Medal, a name card, a UI theme, and a lounge ornament.
Phase Two (Sept. 17 – Oct. 15): Open to all remaining players, including solo participants. The top 30 squads receive Medals and rewards.

Players who clear the Conquest difficulty at least once without placing on the leaderboards still earn rewards, including a name card, UI theme, and a skin for the Malicious Dominator Transcendent Weapon.

Following the conclusion of Karel’s storyline, Nexon confirmed that additional story arcs are in development for future updates.
