A Shift in Gameplay

Set 15 years before the events of A Plague Tale: Innocence, this prequel follows Sophia on Minotaur Island. While the series remains rooted in stealth and puzzle-solving, Resonance introduces a new focus on fast-paced melee combat. Players can dual-wield swords, utilize a parry system similar to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and throw discarded enemy weapons.

Combat encounters are designed to grant Resonance Points, which are used to unlock new abilities. These action segments are balanced with environmental puzzles where players manipulate light using a stolen Minoan sphere to navigate the island's terrain.

Timeline Mechanics

The narrative unfolds across two distinct eras. While Sophia serves as the primary protagonist for the modern timeline, players will also control the Greek hero Theseus during sections set in the ancient Minoan civilization. Actions taken during these historical sequences are intended to influence the tactical challenges Sophia faces in her own time.

Pre-order Details

Players who pre-order any edition of the game before the August 27 launch will receive the Heritage Pack DLC. This bonus includes the Minoan Sword, Alec’s Pendant, and an in-game digital artbook.
