Farming is a core mechanic in Palworld 1.0 that allows you to bypass tedious resource grinding. By assigning creatures to a Ranch structure, you can generate valuable materials automatically while operating your base.

How Farming Works in Palworld 1.0

The Farming skill is distinct from growing crops, which requires Pals skilled in Planting, Watering, and Gathering. Instead, Farming Pals drop specific resources directly at the Ranch. To get started, you must unlock the Ranch from level five of the Technology tree and build it using 50 Wood, 20 Fiber, and 30 Stone.

Before setting up your base production lines, pick a wide, flat space. A fully automated ranch setup requires multiple structures, and having open space keeps your base organized. Furthermore, condensing your Farming Pals via the Pal Essence Condenser will increase their farming efficiency and resource output over time.

Best Late-Game Farming Pals

Late-game farming targets rare materials required for advanced crafting, electricity, and base economy expansion.

  • Dumud Gild (S+ Tier): Possesses Level Four Farming and drops High Quality Pal Oil and Gold Coins. Dumud Gild is essential for constant supplies of Pal Oil, which is needed to craft polymers, circuit boards, and firearms.
  • Sibelyx (S Tier): Features Level One Farming alongside Level Two Medicine Production and Cooling, producing High Quality Cloth and Ice Organs.
  • Beegarde (A Tier): Combines Level One Farming with a wide utility set including Planting, Handiwork, Lumbering, Medicine Production, Transporting, and Gathering while producing Honey.

Best Early-Game Farming Pals

Early-game ranch setups focus on basic building components and consumption items.

  • Lamball (C Tier): An abundant starting Pal that produces Wool at the Ranch. It also features Transporting and Handiwork skills. Cremis and Melpaca also drop Wool.
  • Chikipi (C Tier): An early find that produces Eggs at the Ranch and assists with Gathering.
  • Mozzarina (A Tier): Provides a steady source of Milk at the Ranch, though it lacks additional work skills.
