A new PC title, Derby Heroines: Run, Bet, Win!, is set to arrive on Steam on August 5, 2026, offering players a more hands-on approach to the horse girl racing genre. Developed by SHINISE GAMES, the title moves away from the passive training mechanics seen in similar games, opting instead for real-time player control.

Quick Facts

  • Title: Derby Heroines: Run, Bet, Win!
  • Platform: PC (Steam); Switch version planned for later.
  • Release Date: August 5, 2026
  • Developer: SHINISE GAMES
  • Key Features: Real-time skill activation, in-game betting, 100+ playable characters.

Real-Time Racing Mechanics

In Derby Heroines, players are responsible for controlling their athletes during competitive races. The game utilizes a skill-based system where players must activate abilities at the right moment. These include offensive options like crowd control to knock back opponents and defensive maneuvers like "Mirroring," which reflects debuffs that could otherwise hinder a racer's performance.

The roster includes over 100 characters, each equipped with specific running styles and aptitudes for different tracks and distances. Players can expect to manage diverse strategies, ranging from Front Runners and Stalkers to Closers and Deep Closers. As in similar titles, players must train their characters to improve stats such as stamina, acceleration, pace, and dash speed.

Betting and Commentary

One of the more distinct features of the game is its integrated betting system. Players can wager in-game currency on the outcome of races, allowing them to place bets on individual winners or attempt to predict the top three finishers. This system is designed to add a layer of tension to the races, though the developers have confirmed that only virtual, in-game currency is used.

To capture the feel of a professional race, the game includes full audio commentary for every match. At launch, this commentary will be available in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and French.

Unlocking New Racers

Players looking to expand their stable of characters will do so via an in-game gacha system. While the game launches on Steam, the developers have noted that a version for the Nintendo Switch is currently scheduled for release at a later date.
