Confirmed Weekend 2 Changes

Following the Early Access Beta that ran from August 21 to 25, Infinity Ward stated via social media that it is acting on player feedback. For Weekend 2, the studio is focusing on adjustments to controller aim assist, which many players and professional competitors like OpTic Texas player Brandon “Dashy” Otell criticized for tracking opponents too aggressively during the first weekend.

Alongside aim assist changes, the upcoming patch notes will detail a longer time-to-kill (TTK), movement and weapon balance adjustments, and new Hardpoint spawns. Detailed Resurgence Beta information is also scheduled for release.

Matchmaking Concerns Remain Unaddressed

Despite heavy criticism from players and content creators regarding strict SBMM placing them into sweaty lobbies, Infinity Ward's latest update omitted any mention of matchmaking changes. Activision previously stated it is using an updated matchmaking system that weighs player skill, connection, location, platform, and population, while also testing an open matchmaking option ahead of the full launch on October 23.
